So your notion of dangerous dinosaurs may have to change, just a little. In China they discovered a fossil bed where many dinos were caught in an eruption and, I gather, buried in ash like the residents of Pompeii. This left a perfect impression of their outsides too. And some of the two-footed predators, including an early tyrannosaur, were covered in feathers.

You might be too late for the Feathered Dinosaurs exhibit at the ROM, but it has a bunch of those cool feathered fossils from China. Very interesting.

First thing that came to my was indeed a giant chicken, but the one from Ray Harryhausen’s masterwork (except for the others) “Mysterious Island”. Even when I was a kid, it made me laugh at the incongruity, there was a giant crab too, and a giant nautilus, only that was the submarine.

I wish dinosaurs were still around. They were so much fun. My would be called Astro. Those would be the days.
