Weird cloud over Severn Sound

A nice weekend at the cottage. Jon has adjusted his outdoor activities schedule to his allow for his new activites, as follows:

• Kayaking: 1/2 to 1 hour
• Sand castle building on the beach: 5 minutes to 1 hour
• Swimming to the raft and playing on it: until just after hypothermia starts to set in, then swim in.

Jon met a new friend on the communal raft, a young gent named David who was very kind and took any differences completely in stride, without questions. It was very nice for Jon to find a brand new friend.

We celebrated Grandpa’s 70th birthday with the Lundy/Lyons clans and Mike and I shot off fireworks as it started to rain. The wind was low so we shot them right off the beach (last time the wind was so strong we had to shoot them off the dock). Jon is now totally into fireworks, no fear, just total anticipation and laughter.

Then Jon got to try sparklers for the first time, which was a brand new thrill.
